Raising the Flagpole

The Men of Steel recently raised SAMS new flagpole in preparation for the Queensland Day ceremony at the shed. The flagpole was refurbished and painted under the supervision of Head Halyard Puller, John Sayer, prior to being seated in a huge lump of concrete which should see it survive the August winds for many years to come.

Sign Facelift

The sign at the entrance to the shed was looking a little second-hand so some of the Woodies decided that a facelift was called for. Their efforts have given the sign a new lease of life.

The New Library is Open

Probably the happiest member at the moment is librarian Ray C due to the opening of the new library. Replacing the ugly old metal shelves with purpose built shelves and introducing a couple of comfy lounges the library is now a real feature of the shed. The new shelving was designed and built by our very own master craftsman Fraser M. This area will continue to improve with planned additions of a large screen  TV and snooker table etc.
